Atlanta Falcons…An Exciting Team To Watch
In 1966, the Atlanta Falcons started their inaugural season. They lost most of the games that season finishing with a record of 3-11. They were not discouraged though and each season they come back for another try.
The first several years were difficult for the Falcons. They lost more games than they won and could not seem to make it to a division title, let alone the Super Bowl. Finally, in 1996, the Atlanta Falcons had their first winning season, although they still did not make it to the Super Bowl. To date, they have only had four winning seasons with one trip to the Super Bowl in 1998; however, they lost to Denver.
The Georgia Dome has been home to the Atlanta Falcons since 1992 and at one time was the largest domed structure in the entire world. The past several years have seen some major renovations to the old stadium. Premium seats were updated and the exterior of the building was repainted to match the team colors. There have also been improvements made to the video screens in the end zones, widening them and making it easier for fans to watch replays.
The Atlanta Falcons also have a great group of people cheering them on. The Falcons Cheerleaders are more than just cheerleaders. Each one of them has a unique story and a unique style that adds dimension and style to the squad. Many are business owners and professionals when they aren’t in the red and black uniforms. They are also very dedicated to helping the community and giving back to the people that support them each football season.
Like any other professional football team, the Atlanta Falcons are heavily involved in the community. They are passionate about helping children. From fighting childhood obesity with fitness programs, to participating in the Toys for Tots drive they do what they can to help the children of their community. They also participate in food drives and visit homeless shelters, hospitals, and other locations to give a hand and provide a little support and encouragement for their less fortunate fans.
Atlanta is a town rich in history and culture. The down home southern cooking and hospitality can’t be beat, adding to the whole Falcons experience. The Atlanta Falcons are not the number one team in the NFL but they are always fun to watch, and they are getting better all the time.
